'Beneath the Waves' is an Australian short film featuring real-world surfers Higin Prazmo and Kris Felix, written and directed by James Cunningham, produced by Presidential Productions and filmed along the remote Western Australian coastline, screening at film festivals around the world and earning 'Best Short Film' at the Rome Film Awards in 2018.

Two brothers embark on a surfing trip that becomes more than just a quest for big waves. Haunted by past grievances and lingering tensions, the brothers paddle out into stormy seas. Each swell and every twist of the tide uncovers buried emotions and resentment, testing the limits of their fragile fraternal bond. As the power of the Indian Ocean builds, so does the pressure beneath the surface, ultimately leading the brothers to a deeper understanding of eachother and a rare chance to rebuild a broken relationship.

Against the vast backdrop of Australia's untamed coastline, 'Beneath the Waves' combines intimate surf cinematography from cinematographer Matt Loucas, highly-naturalistic performances from real-world surfers, and striking visual realism to deliver a poignant meditation on masculinity. Beneath its dripping-wet exterior lies a world of unspoken desire, quiet emotional tension and immense vulnerability.
